RIVERSIDE - 18 Year Old Killed In Car vs. Semi Collision.

Early on the morning of February 3, 2026, California Highway Patrol, Cal Fire, Riverside County and Riverside Fire Department responded to a call of a crash involving a silver Honda Civic vs. a semi truck on Meridian Parkway just south of Innovation Drive in Riverside. Preliminary investigation revealed that the Honda Civic had rear ended a semi that was stopped on the side of the road. The driver of the Honda, a 18 year old male sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased by fire personnel. The semi was stopped on the side of the road, in front of the “No Stopping Bike Lane” sign for a few minutes to check to see if a gate was open to enter a facility. The semi driver re-entered the truck to move the semi and felt the impact of the collision. The driver of the semi wasn’t cited at the scene. The roadway was straight in that area so it isn’t clear why the car veered to the right and hit the truck. At this time it is not clear if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
