KANE COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) – A driver was killed in a fiery crash Saturday after colliding with a semi-truck that was parked on shoulder on Interstate 90 in the northwest suburbs.
The crash happened around 3:18 p.m. near Almora in Kane County, Illinois State Police said.
A Truck Tractor Semi-Trailer was parked on the right shoulder of the interstate, and it was hit by an SUV that crossed into the shoulder for an unknown reason, ISP said.
The driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital, where they were later pronounced dead, police said. Their age, gender and identity were not known.
The driver in the parked semi was taken to a hospital for injuries.
No further information was available as ISP continues to investigate.
