2 killed after being struck by vehicle on I-35 after deer collision near Guthrie

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (KOKH) — Two men were killed after they got out of their car on Interstate 35 and were hit by another vehicle.

It happened shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday on northbound I-35 at mile marker 165 near Guthrie.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the two men were in a vehicle that struck a deer. They then stopped and got out of the vehicle to check the damage when a semi truck struck them and their disabled vehicle. A third vehicle also struck their vehicle, OHP says.

Both men were pronounced dead on the scene. They have been identified as Jason Kaminskas, 40, and Payton Kaminskas, 23, both of Enid.

The driver who struck the two was not injured. However, the driver of the third vehicle sustained injuries, according to OHP. His condition is not known.
