Dr. Ricardo Martinez
Dr. Ricardo Martinez is a board-certified emergency physician and nationally recognized leader in trauma care and automotive injury prevention. He served as Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) from 1994–1999, where he advanced motor-vehicle injury prevention as a public-health priority and forged influential public-private partnerships across the transportation sector. A long-time advocate for eliminating preventable roadway tragedies, Dr. Martinez brings deep regulatory, legislative, and industry expertise to ESS. He supports the company’s government-affairs strategy by working with federal and state agencies, policymakers, NGOs, and automotive manufacturers to advance adoption of next-generation advance-warning technologies — including solutions enabled by ESS’ H.E.L.P.® platform. Grounded in decades of frontline emergency medicine, Dr. Martinez is committed to accelerating the deployment of practical, life-saving innovations that make roads safer for all motorists.
